Kočtúch Milan

Kočtúch Milan

from Liptovský Hrádku

He works in wood, metal, leather, horns and antlers. His specialty is shepherd's products: wooden carved scoops, leather belts, bags and wallets, metal buckles and ladies' jewelry, which he sells at fairs and folk art fairs or performs on special order. In addition, he restores historical weapons, and for the local folk band he makes original moccasins. Line of work he learned from the shepherds – they gave him practical knowledge, but also magical knowledge. He also reads a lot of professional literature. As an engineer, he has a good hand and patience to work. During thematic events, he often presents his craft, talking about the process of creation and techniques of decorating his products. What he cares most about is that a given thing should be done in the same way as in the past and with the use of authentic regional designs.

Milan Kočtúch is a creator registered in ÚĽUVe. He participated in many exhibitions.
