Kubik Maria

The most well-known and active creator of the region. Her mother taught her embroider. In 1983, she began working with the very active Czechowice Cepelia, for which she embroidered the treads (until the co-op in 1995). Prefers the so-called "white on white", but also does not avoid colorful embroidery. Napkins, table runners and tablecloths is decorated with floral patterns, while blouses, pillows, slips and baby's sleeping bags – Cieszyn embroidery. Trying for the status of a folk artist, she sent to the Folk Artists' Assosiation a hand-made – sewn and embroidered – blouse with a ruffle to a Cieszyn costume (which she kept as a souvenir). The committee's evaluation was clearly positive. She handed her another blouse of this type to the collections of the Silesian Museum in Katowice.
Maria Kubik co-creates with Czesław her husband, making sculptures, toys, ritual props, and it is precisely in this field that she succeeds in folk art contests. She enjoys participating in fairs and fairs accompanying folklore events, including Sabałowe Bajanie in Bukowina Tatrzańska, All-Poland Review of Bands, Singers and People's Instrumentalists in Kazimierz Dolny, Majówka near Gubałówka in Zakopane or Beskidy Highlanders' Week of Culture in Żywiec.
